I built The Other World because I got tired of being told that the problem was my attitude. It was not my attitude. It was a rent I could not clear, a wage that did not move, and an education that charged me for the privilege of finding out.

Here is the part they never tell you: once you can read a balance sheet, the whole thing stops being mysterious. Money is a language. Learn it and the system loses its hold on you. Not because it gets fair, but because you stop needing it to be.
